How to Help

Ways You Can Help

  1. Adopt an Equine:  Visit our adoption page for details. Our adoption coordinator will conduct an “on site” inspection after paperwork is approved.
  1. Foster a Horse: PER absorbs all the costs. All you do is provide your facility and lots of TLC.
  1. Make a Financial Donation: At our website through PayPal OR send a check to our mailing address.

Panhandle Equine Rescue

  1. Sponsor an Equine: Rescued equines require long term care before they can be adopted but some are never adoptable because of special needs. Your sponsorship goes 100% towards the care of your sponsored rescued equine. You will receive a quarterly update on the progress of the equine and updated photos.
  1. Volunteer: There are many ways to help: barn chores, community activities, fundraisers. Give us a call or visit our website to download our volunteer form.  We appreciate all groups who come & volunteer their time for our horses!  For instance, in 2012,  we were the recipients of Military Assistance Day Phase II (2012):

We are happy to announce that Phase II of the cleanup at PER has been completed! We were told to expect 14 sailors from NAS in Pensacola. A group of 12 arrived and got busy working on the many tasks that needed to be done. Shortly thereafter, we were surprised when 14 more showed up! This made up for last weekend when no one could make it out because the base was put on lockdown at the last minute. They all worked hard and got so much accomplished. Thanks to Lynn of Boyettes Portable Toilets, Coca Cola, Baker Distributing and Winn Dixie for their generous contributions. Also to Packy Mitchell for playing a major role in making this day such a success. Along with the 26 military men and women, we would also like to thank the 18 PER volunteers who donated food and drinks and the use of ice chests and tools. Thanks to Jay Birdsong, Linda Lambert, Stephanie Rimes, Dawnmarie Ingwell and Ricky Lowery for assisting in the cleanup. Words cannot be expressed on how much all of you are appreciated for your dedication and hard work!
